TEOCALLI SIDE TABLE BY ALDO ÁLVAREZ TOSTADO
8,800 USD
These totemic stools/side tables that combine the geometric boldness of building in Mexico from pre-classical temples to the late modernism of Agustín Hernández and Pedro Ramírez Vázquez. In tune with the dramatic, tectonic furniture of the 1970s and 80s, the architectural volumes are wrapped in black leather, hand-chiseled with abstract symbols that oscillate between ancient hieroglyphs and the graphic energy of 1980s graffiti tagging. Both functional and sculptural, the TEOCALLI stools embody a language of power and rhythm, a micromonument of sorts.
