The MEZTLI mirror pairs pitch-black, hand-cut obsidian with a bold leather frame engraved with abstract glyphs of an imagined hybrid language –a future vernacular– evoking the protective geometry of Aztec shields. A jewel-like surface that transforms primal materials into something more than a decorative object: an everyday contemplative, practically ceremonial piece. MEZTLI invites a deep, introspective gaze, calling for reflection beyond surface level. Produced in collaboration with master artisans in Teotihuacán and Tonalá, it brings ancestral techniques to contemporary rituals and obsessions.
