Mayan Revival Style became popular throughout the 1920s – 1930s in the Americas. It evokes Pre-Colombian Mesoamerican idiosyncrasy combined with Art Deco traits. Although the style was coined Mayan, it drew on motifs from many Mesoamerican cultures, including Aztec and Mexica. The origin of the style seems to coincide with the various archeological discoveries throughout the Americas at the time which served as major sources of inspiration in architecture, art, and design - more for their aesthetics and poetic beauty than historical significance.
